How does a $150,000 one-of -a-kind gown get stolen? Let alone one worn to the Oscars just days ago by one of the most photographed celebrities in Hollywood? Well, apparently it happened to Lupita Nyong’o. Her custom Calvin Klein Collection dress made of over 6,000 pearls was reportedly taken from Lupita’s West Hollywood hotel room.
TMZ reports that cops are investigating the theft after Lupita says the gown was taken from her room sometime between 8 AM and 9 PM on Tuesday while she was out and about. Police are checking security footage that they hope will find the thief. Where are the culprits going to hide a recognizable dress (that landed Lupita on our “Oscars Best Dressed” list) like that anyway?
I know where my clothes are when they go missing…maybe Lupita had a crazy sleepover with one of the male A-listers after the Oscars? Just kidding, she’s so classy. Let’s hope the dress is found soon!
