The movie that proved Britney Spears was not an actress and forced me to ask my mom what words like “deflowering” meant before I needed to know is unforgettable. Crossroads inspired road trips, burying a box full of treasures with your friends, and other things that only happen in movies.
Is it a shock that a sequel wasn’t made? No really…the movie wasn’t winning any awards (except maybe Razzies). But Taryn Manning, who played one of Brit’s BFFs and is now part of the gang on Orange Is the New Black, told E! News that she was ready to reprise her role.
“I would do Crossroads 2,” Taryn said. “And a Hustle and Flow 2. And an 8 Mile 2.”
Wait, I need all of this to happen.
It might be a little hard to reunite the cast – Britney is busy doing nightly shows in Vegas and Zoe Saldana, who played the third amigo in the 2002 film, has become a hot commodity, currently filming sequels to Star Trek and Avatar. So although we’d be at the midnight screening, it’s not likely to happen.
