Jane the Virgin

This week on Jane the Virgin, Michael is still in denial, Xo has a new love interest and the nuns are convincing their new parishioners Jane has magical hugs. Here are a few dicy choices the Jane the Virgin players made this week.

1. Jane’s parents putting the brakes on their romance.

Last week Jane’s mom decided skipping off into the sunset with Jane’s dad might not be what the future holds, so she decided to end things before it interfered with Jane’s relationship with him. This week it became pretty clear that the insane jealousy they both feel about the other getting on with their love life is interfering with just about everything else.

2. Jane speeding up things with Rafael.

In this week alone Jane and Rafael’s budding romance has caused her to be late for work, seriously freak out her mother, and break Michael’s heart all over again. All signs (literally, she’s hallucinating signs) point to trouble for the two, but their late night chats are just so darn romantic.

3. Jane parents going on a double date (with other people).

This show is just hell-bent on creating conflicted shippers. Though most viewers are obviously team Xo and Rogelio,  a double date with an adorable ex- professional soccer player (and doting father) might start a brand new ship.

4. The nuns convincing people Jane is some kind of fertility goddess.

At first Jane thought the sudden boom in strangers hugging her was a consequence of having a famous father, but it turns out the nuns at her school are toting her as some sort of pregnant virgin tourist attraction. Definitely creepy, but at least it gives her leverage when she pulls any not-so-teachery-moves.

4. Petra’s Peanut Plot.

Actually this decision seems pretty solid-for now. Petra accidentally on purpose makes her blackmailer, and now prisoner, go into anaplastic shock, then vetos her mother’s plan to kill him and grabs her epi-pen instead. Turns out the whole thing was a set up to get his trust. And for the moment, it seems to be working. Still, you probably shouldn’t trick a violent criminal.

Next week Rafael, the last person to not know about Jane’s virginity situation, learns the mother of his child has never had sex. Will they sleep together, and in doing so learn Jane has two uteruses like the woman on Grey’s Anatomy and is now doubly pregnant?
