Patricia Arquette, who won an a Best Supporting Actress Oscar last night for Boyhood, has had a long time to prepare her Oscar speech. Everyone from critics to your mom have been saying she was a lock for months, and she obviously used her prep time wisely. After the usual list of heartfelt thanks going out to her family, both in the film and IRL, Arquette moved on to social justice saying, “It’s out time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America.”

The sentiment obvious struck a chord with the audience, as the camera panned to a cheering Meryl Streep and an excited JLo. A+ speech.
