Wednesday February 4th on Jimmy Kimmels show, Jimmy asked the studio audience to guess the answers in a video, from one of his crew members, if the people on the screen had any Black friends. If it weren’t for how he executed this plan it may have come off as fairly racist, but by finishing the video how he did it was clear there were other intentions.
Recently casual (and not so casual) racism has come under a bit of criticism as people have become aware of other individuals “civil rights” and having their own “common sense,” but there is still a long way to go to create a world without any kind of racism.
Over the years, there has been an incline in people who have said, “I have a black friend,” a phrase often used by individuals who do not want to appear as racists. Others use it to make it seem like they value diversity a lot more than they actually do.
It helps one think about how they judge someones character and that not everyone is the same.
