They say that the most effective workout is the one you’ll actually do. If you’re the sort of person who is motivated enough to head to hour-long spinning class five days a week or if you truly enjoy going to Crossfit every day, good for you! That’s awesome and I honestly wish I had your strength and dedication. But if you struggle to carve out the time or energy to squeeze in those workouts, you’re in the right place.
Whether you skip workouts because you’re pressed for time or because you just straight up dread exercising, sometimes the answer to staying fit without sacrificing your social life/studies/sanity/happiness is to find short, fun workouts that you can squeeze in whenever possible. I’m a fan of these ten minute finds. Feel free to combine a few of them for a longer workout, or simply squeeze in a quickie when you can – it’s absolutely better than nothing.
1. Crunchless Ab Workout
Sculpt sleek abs and tight obliques with this short workout. The best part? You don’t even have to get down on the floor and do (awful) crunches. It’s still effective though. Expect to feel this the next day.
2. Holiday Hottie Workout
Don’t be fooled by the short length and upbeat personalities of the instructors – Tone It Up videos aren’t easy. This one will get your heart pumping and work your entire body.
3. Yoga Flow Sequence
Bust out this short workout next time you’re feeling stressed. You can give yourself a ten minute break to do something that will help you relax while you tone your body.
4. Cardio Quickie Workout
Skip the treadmill in favor of this short cardio blast. You can do it twice for a full workout, combine it with a resistance video or simply sneak these 10 minutes of cardio in on days when you don’t have time for a full workout.
5. The Look Good Naked Barre Workout
Barre is fabulous if you want to strengthen your body without bulking up – it helps you sculpt long, lean muscles. This ten minute workout will definitely work you out well. Expect to be sore the next day.
