Last week transgender teenager Leelah Alcorn tragically committed suicide, with a suicide note published on her Tumblr explaining her parent’s refusal to accept her as a girl and their efforts to keep her from transitioning is what made her believe there was no hope for her. Her tragedy has inspired the hashtag #RealLifeTransAdult where transgender adults share their story to let transgender teens know there is hope for them to have a happy life.
