Reality TV stars seem to be living the dream — let some cameras into your life for a couple of years and you’re suddenly a millionaire (or billionaire!), all just for being yourself. Unfortunately, there seems to be a pattern happening… These stars are managing their money absolutely horribly and ending up completely broke and even filing for bankruptcy.

We’ve thrown together a list of some of the most notorious reality TV stars who have fallen from their pedestals and are now paying the consequences for their poor decisions.

When 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' first started airing way back in YEAR, America was absolutely taken by this cute, suburban family raising a set of twins and a set of septuplets. But, that facade quickly crumbled and culminated in a nasty divorce where Kate Gosselin got to keep perhaps the couple's most valuable asset: the reality show. 'Kate Plus 8' aired without Jon and left him scrambling to find odd jobs. Since the joint show left TLC in 2011, he's worked installing solar panels, at several restaurants and even at a credit card company, but nothing seems to be working out for Jon - he was evicted from his home in Pennsylvania in the Fall. How could this list exist without the trainwreck that is Speidi? These two got their starts as the slightly manipulative friends of Lauren and Brody and bad from the get-go (remember the first episode - they got LC in trouble on the job!). Fame skyrocketed straight to their heads and they spent every penny they made to keep up. It went to the usual: designer clothes, cars and Heidi's infamous plastic surgery, but also far stranger things like Spencer's fascination with crystals and their healing properties. They're still clinging to their 15 minutes of fame and will be returning to TV for Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars in 2015.The Fall indictment of America's most annoying guido for tax evasion surprised no one and perpetuated the stereotype of reality TV stars who are unable to manage their money in a normal, legal fashion. The Situation was the first 'Jersey Shore' star to capitalize on the newfound fame and made $5 million from endorsements after the show's first season, a figure that just continued to increase as the show aired. But since the end of the show in 2012, The Situation has faded away into obscurity and apparently started several businesses with his brother, Marc. They've both been indicted for filing false returns on $8.9 million and we have a sneaky suspicion he's not going to be able to pay what he owes.Let's get one thing straight first: yes, she was absolutely a famous model pre-ANTM, but the reality show is what really made her a household name. Dickinson served as a judge for four seasons of ANTM and even went on to host her own program, The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, which I think approximately 6 people watched. I feel sorry for models, I really do - there's enormous pressure to keep looking young and pulling a Benjamin Button as they age. Dickinson tried to keep up and it's primarily her plastic surgery debts that forced her to file bankruptcy in 2013.2014 was just not the Giudice's year. Not only were they indicted on counts of mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud, but that very bankruptcy claim that got them sent to prison has recently been denied. This means that Teresa and Joe will have to pay back every penny of the $13 million they owe! All of their properties have been put up for sale and there are rumors that federal agents will be seizing any Christmas presents purchased for their children. And 2015 won't even bring any more opportunities to do every interview and appearance they're offered - Teresa will be serving her 15-month prison term in the New Year followed by Joe who will be behind bars for a whopping 42 months (3.5 years people).
