The secret about the guy in the big, red suit might be out, but there are still plenty of things you can do around Christmas time that will make you feel like a kid again! Note: You can still enjoy a glass of wine or two while doing these activities.
1. Bake Cookies
You used to make them to put out for Santa, but decorating Christmas treats is still fun! Get creative by checking out awesome recipes on Pinterest or simply put some cookie dough in the oven. Either way you’ll have a warm, delicious treat to enjoy while watching Christmas specials.
2. Sing Christmas Songs
All together now: The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear! Yes, drunken sing-a-longs at the bar count.
3. Look at Christmas Lights
Take a walk or a drive around the neighborhood to see how everyone decorated this year. Nothing puts you in the Christmas spirit like seeing a giant, inflatable Frosty the Snowman.
4. Spend Time with Family
There’s no place like home for the holidays! Keeping up family traditions, whether it’s a special meal or gift exchange, reminds you of those happy memories as a kid.
5. Wear Pajamas and Watch Movies
Some of my favorite movies as a kid were Christmas movies. Let the nostalgia flow as you revisit classics like A Muppet’s Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Extra points if you still have the Claymation Christmas Specials on VHS.
6. Decorate the Tree
Hanging ornaments while Christmas music plays in the background is the absolute best. It’s even better now that you and your siblings aren’t arguing who gets to put the star on the top.
7. Go Ice Skating
Nothing gets you laughing like skating around with friends trying so hard not to completely wipe out.
